What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy applies the science of nutrition to the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care.

Nutritional therapy is more than just healthy eating. Exploring the unique link between health and nutrition, nutritional therapy looks at identifying the underlying causes and contributing factors of nutritional imbalances and understand how they may contribute to an individual's health concerns and symptoms. Using a personalised approach, nutritional therapy subsequently aims at rebalancing the body's chemistry and supports individuals in reaching lasting improvements in their health and wellbeing through dietary and lifestyle recommendations.

Recognised as complementary medicine, nutritional therapy works well alongside  conventional medicine and other therapies involved in an individual's care. It is most relevant for individuals with chronic conditions as well as those looking for support to improve their health and wellbeing. However, nutritional therapy is not a substitute for professional medical advice and a nutritional therapist will always refer clients to their GP if there are signs or symptoms that are considered a cause for concern.
